Pest Control in Bolton and Caledon

Bolton grew up around a flour mill on the Humber River in the 1820s, and it's still the biggest community in Caledon. These days the south end along Highway 50 and Coleraine Drive has a lot of warehouses, plants and trade businesses, while farmland and the Oak Ridges Moraine are never far away. Our Bolton team works on both sides of that line. Call 647-849-4441 to set up a free estimate. Emergency calls are taken 24/7.

Frequently Asked Questions About Our Professional Pest Control Services
How much does industrial pest control cost?
Industrial sites usually run between $300 and $600 a month. The price depends on the size of the property, how much outdoor yard and fence line there is, and how much activity the site already has. A big yard with outdoor storage needs more bait stations along the perimeter than a sealed building does. We match the visit schedule to how busy the site is, and we start with a free walk-through so you get a real number.
Do factories need different pest control than warehouses?
Yes. A warehouse is mostly about keeping mice and insects out of stored goods. A factory has production lines, lunchrooms, locker rooms and sometimes heat and moisture from equipment, and each of those attracts something different. Inside production areas we use traps and monitors instead of loose bait, and we schedule visits around shifts. Factory plans usually run $200 to $500 a month, and that includes emergency response between scheduled visits.
How do you keep wasps away from loading docks and outdoor break areas?
Wasps go where the food is, so start with lids on garbage bins and move break and lunch areas away from the dumpsters. Then we look for nests early, in June and July, while they're still small. That means checking under dock canopies, inside hollow railings and fence posts, along the roof line and in the ground near the building. A small nest in June is a quick job. The same nest in late August is a lot harder to deal with, and that's when people get stung.
Do rats live under decks and sheds?
Norway rats, the common rat around here, like to dig. A burrow under a deck, shed or concrete pad is one of the most common places we find them, especially when there's a compost bin, bird feeder or pet food nearby. Look for holes about 5 to 10 centimetres across with packed dirt around them, and paths worn through the grass. Rat control for a home usually costs $299 to $399.
Is it safe to clean up mouse droppings myself?
You can, but do it carefully, especially in sheds, cottages and outbuildings where deer mice are common. Deer mice can carry hantavirus, which spreads through dust from their droppings and urine. Don't sweep or vacuum dry droppings. Open the doors and windows first, put on gloves, and soak the area with a mix of one part bleach to nine parts water. Let it sit for a few minutes, then wipe it up with paper towel and throw it out in a sealed bag.
Why are ants coming up through the floor of our industrial unit?
Most industrial floors are concrete slabs with expansion joints and cracks, and pavement ants nest in the soil underneath. They come up through the joints, especially in spring, and head for lunchrooms and anywhere food is kept. Spraying the floor doesn't reach the colony. We put bait along the trails so they take it back down, then seal the joints and cracks they're using. Our industrial pest control includes floor and slab checks like this.
Why do mice keep getting into our plant even with bait stations?
Bait stations outside catch mice before they reach the building, but they don't stop the ones that walk straight in through an open dock door or a gap under a man door. Once mice are inside, they need traps, not more outside stations. Other common problems are stations that haven't been checked in months, stations in the wrong spots, and food or nesting material left out inside. We'll walk the plant, fix the layout and close the gaps. See our commercial rodent control program.
How do you stop flies around a plant's garbage and compactor area?
House flies breed in the wet waste that leaks out of compactors and builds up on the pad underneath. If the area smells, it's breeding flies. Get the compactor and dumpsters emptied often enough, wash down the pad on a schedule, fix any leaking seals and keep lids closed. We can treat the area to cut down the adult flies and put fly lights inside nearby doors so they don't make it into the building. Waste areas get checked on every visit in our factory programs.
Do carpenter bees sting?
Hardly ever. The males are the ones that hover around your face and dive at you near the deck, but they don't have a stinger at all. The females can sting, but they rarely do unless you grab one or trap it. The real problem is the holes they drill in wood, which get bigger every year as they come back to the same spots.
Can rats get into a house through the toilet or drains?
It's rare, but it can happen. Norway rats are good swimmers and live in sewer lines, and in older homes with cracked drain pipes or missing drain covers, they can come up through a floor drain or, once in a while, a toilet. A backwater valve, tight drain covers and repairs to broken sewer lines keep them out. If you see rat droppings in the basement near a drain, call us so we can find the entry point. Rat control is $299 to $399.

Why us
Pest Control for Bolton's Industrial Area and Homes
Bolton has changed a lot. The old village along the Humber is still there, but the south end of town has become an industrial area full of distribution buildings, factories, trades and storage yards. Those sites deal with pests on a bigger scale than a house does: mice in pallets of stock, rats burrowing along the fence line and wasps nesting under the dock canopies. Our Bolton team handles industrial pest control, factories and warehouses, along with the shops and restaurants on Queen Street.

Every commercial site gets a written plan, a map of where our devices are and a report after each visit. We work around shift changes and can come early in the morning or at night. Most commercial calls get a response within 24 to 48 hours, and emergencies are covered 24/7.

A lot of Bolton's industrial buildings back onto open fields, which is great for space and bad for rodents. When the farmland around town is harvested in the fall, mice and rats lose their cover and their food, and they head for the nearest warm building full of stored goods. Getting exterior bait stations in along the fence line and around the dock doors before September makes a big difference to how the winter goes inside.

At home, Bolton's spot next to farmland means mice, especially in the fall when the fields come off. We also deal with rats, house ants and carpenter ants, pharaoh ants, wasps, hornets, carpenter bees, spiders, centipedes, silverfish, cockroaches, bed bugs, flies, fruit flies, weevils and other pantry beetles.

Since 2017, our licensed and insured technicians have handled everything from a single mouse in a kitchen to full industrial programs. Ask for an unmarked vehicle if you'd like one, and call 647-849-4441 to book a free estimate.
