Frequently Asked Questions About Our Professional Pest Control Services
How do you protect server rooms and data centres from rodents?
One mouse chewing through a cable can take down a rack, so prevention matters more than anything. We seal the conduit and cable openings into the room, check raised floors and ceiling spaces, place monitors and traps around the outside of the room, and keep food out of the area completely. Data centre plans usually run $200 to $475 a month, with visits booked around your maintenance windows and security rules.
Why do cockroaches keep coming back to a restaurant after treatment?
Usually one of three reasons. They're coming in from a neighbouring unit through shared walls, they're arriving in deliveries and cardboard boxes, or there's a spot in the kitchen where grease and food build up that nobody's reaching, like under the fryer or behind the dish machine. A single spray won't fix any of those. What works is gel bait, regular visits, cleaning the hidden spots and, in a plaza, getting the neighbours treated too.
Can employees bring pests into the office?
Yes. Bed bugs ride in on bags and coats, and cockroaches can come in a lunch bag or a box from home. It's nobody's fault, and it happens in very nice offices too. If someone reports bites or finds a bug, don't panic and don't spray anything. Bag the item, call us, and we'll inspect the area and the workstations around it. Most of the time it's caught early and stays small.
How much does cockroach treatment cost for a home?
We price cockroach jobs after a free inspection, because the work depends on how many there are, what kind they are and whether they're coming from a neighbour. A few German cockroaches in one kitchen is a small job. An apartment with a heavy infestation and roaches next door is a bigger one. German cockroaches usually need at least two visits, and if a follow-up treatment is needed, the second service is at no extra charge.
Should I use store-bought bug spray before calling an exterminator?
For ants and cockroaches, it's better not to. Most store sprays kill the bugs you can see and scatter the rest, and they can stop baits from working because the insects avoid treated areas. With pharaoh ants, spraying can actually make the colony split into several new ones. If you've already sprayed, that's fine. Just tell the technician what you used and where.
Can cockroaches get into computers and electronics?
Yes. German cockroaches like warm, dark spaces, so the inside of printers, point-of-sale terminals, microwaves, routers and server equipment can attract them, especially in busy offices and restaurants. They can cause shorts and leave droppings inside. Don't spray electronics. We place gel bait and monitors around the equipment, deal with the source in the kitchen or break room, and check the equipment areas on every visit. Equipment areas get checked on every visit in our office pest control plans.
How do bubble tea and dessert shops control fruit flies?
Sugary syrups, fruit, milk and tapioca pearls give fruit flies plenty to breed in, so these shops need a strict cleaning routine. Wipe down counters and machines through the day, clean syrup pumps and bottle caps, empty the drains and drip trays nightly, keep fruit refrigerated or covered and take garbage out before closing. We'll find the exact spots they're breeding in and set up monitoring through our business service.
How do restaurants control house flies in the kitchen?
Keep them out first. Air curtains or screen doors on the back door, garbage kept away from the kitchen and taken out often, and doors closed during service do most of the work. Inside, fly lights catch the ones that get through, as long as they're placed away from food prep and not visible from outside. Drains and floor corners where food collects need regular cleaning too. We set this up as part of our restaurant pest control.
Can mice get in through a dryer vent or exhaust fan?
Yes, if the flap is broken or stuck open. Dryer vents, bathroom and kitchen exhaust fans and attic vents all lead straight into the house, and a mouse only needs a gap about the width of a pencil. Check the vent covers outside your house, replace broken flaps, and cover vents with a proper vent guard, not a fine screen that can clog with lint. Mouse control for a home is $250 to $350.
Why do some ants smell when I squish them?
Those are odorous house ants. When they're crushed, they give off a smell a lot of people compare to rotten coconut or blue cheese. They're small and dark brown, and they love sweets, so you'll often see them in long trails on kitchen counters in spring and after rain. They nest in walls, under floors and outside under stones. Baits work much better than sprays. Ant control for a home costs $199 to $299.

Why us
Pest Control for Markham Tech Offices, Restaurants and Homes
Markham's business side is a mix you don't see in many cities: tech companies, research labs and data centres on one street, and food courts, plazas and restaurants on the next. Pests cause real damage in both. A mouse in a server room is a downtime problem. A cockroach in a busy kitchen is a health inspection problem. We set up office pest control, restaurant programs and data centre protection that fit the way each business runs.
Offices are serviced after hours. Restaurants get visits timed around opening and closing, and data rooms are handled around your maintenance windows. Everything is documented with a written report after each visit, and every device is on a map. Most commercial calls get a response within 24 to 48 hours.
Restaurants in the busy malls and plazas along Highway 7 and Kennedy Road share walls, exhaust ducts and garbage areas with dozens of neighbours, so one unit's problem quickly becomes everyone's. York Region Public Health inspects them all, and a pest finding can mean a closure. We work with mall management and individual tenants to keep treatments on the same schedule, and we do the work at night so shoppers never see it.
At home, the newer subdivisions near the Rouge and the older streets in Unionville and Markham Village both get mice in the fall and ants in the spring. We also treat rats, carpenter and pharaoh ants, wasps, hornets, carpenter bees, cockroaches, bed bugs, spiders, centipedes, silverfish, flies, fruit flies, weevils and pantry beetles.
We've been in business since 2017. Our technicians are licensed and insured, and we can send an unmarked vehicle if you prefer. Call 647-849-4441 and tell us what you're seeing.
