How much does pest control cost for a hotel?

Can you come in an unmarked vehicle?
Yes. Just ask when you book. A lot of our commercial clients, like restaurants, hotels, clinics and stores, would rather their customers didn't see a pest control truck in the parking lot, and plenty of homeowners feel the same way about their neighbours. You still get the same service and the same paperwork.
How do you keep pests away from a restaurant patio?
Patios bring out wasps in late summer, flies all season and sometimes mice or rats under the decking. Keep garbage cans lidded and away from tables, clear plates quickly and wipe up spills. We check for wasp nests in railings, umbrellas, planters and under the patio early in the season, and treat them before they grow. If the patio is built on a deck, we look underneath for rodent activity too.
Why do I have mice in my garage?
Garages are easy to get into. Most garage doors have a gap at the bottom or worn weatherstripping on the sides, and many people keep bird seed, grass seed, pet food or garbage in there. Mice move in for the food and then find their way into the house. Replace worn seals, keep food in metal or hard plastic bins, and set a few traps along the walls. How do I get ready for a pest control appointment?
It depends on the pest. For cockroaches, empty the kitchen cupboards and the space under the sink. For bed bugs, wash and dry bedding and clothes on high heat, and clear clutter from around the bed. For ants and mice, you usually don't need to do much except give us access to the areas where you've seen them. We'll send you the right prep list when you book.
How do golf courses and outdoor venues deal with wasps?
Golf courses, clubs and outdoor event spaces get ground-nesting yellowjackets in the turf and bunker edges, nests in benches, ball washers and garbage bins, and wasps all over the patio by late summer. Groundskeepers should mark ground nests when they find them so carts and mowers avoid them. Use garbage bins with lids and empty them often. We check the grounds early in the season and treat nests before they grow. It's part of our business service.
How do you keep rats away from a marina or waterfront business?
Marinas and waterfront businesses have food from boaters and restaurants, garbage, boat storage and plenty of cover along the shoreline. Rats burrow along retaining walls and under docks and stored boats. Keep garbage in sealed bins, clean up fish waste and food quickly, keep storage areas tidy and off the ground, and check for burrows along the shore. How do car dealerships and service centres keep mice out?
Cars that sit on the lot or in storage for weeks make perfect nests for mice. They get into engine bays, air filters and cabin vents, and they chew wiring, which is an expensive repair. Service bays with open doors and staff lunches add to it. Keep bait stations around the lot and building, traps in the service area and storage, and check stored vehicles regularly. Can rats climb into a house through the roof?
They can. The common rat around here, the Norway rat, is a digger, but it can also climb. Rats use trees, vines, downspouts and utility lines to reach the roof, then get in through gaps in soffits, roof vents and around chimneys. Trim branches back at least a metre from the roof, check vent covers and seal gaps at the roof line. If you hear heavy scratching in the attic, call us. Rat control is $299 to $399.
Are silverfish harmful?
Not to people. Silverfish don't bite, sting or spread disease. They're a nuisance, and they can damage paper, books, photos, wallpaper glue and some fabrics like cotton and linen. If you keep important papers or old photos in a damp basement, move them into sealed plastic bins. Lowering the humidity is the best way to get rid of them for good.
