Aurora's Pest Control Team

Aurora was called Machell's Corners until 1854, a crossroads with a general store at Yonge and Wellington. It's a very different town now, with offices, plants and a growing business area out by Highway 404 and Leslie Street. Our Aurora team handles pest control for those businesses and for homes all over town, from the older streets off Wellington to the newer subdivisions. Frequently Asked Questions About Our Professional Pest Control Services
How often should an office get pest control?
For most offices, a visit every two months is enough. Ground-floor units, older buildings and offices with a busy kitchen or lunchroom do better with monthly service. We work after hours so nobody has to step around us, and office plans usually run $200 to $225 a month. If staff start seeing ants in the kitchen or droppings under desks between visits, call and we'll come back.
What should a manufacturer expect from a pest control contract?
A proper contract should include a map of every trap and bait station, a set visit schedule, a written report after each visit, and a clear plan for what happens when someone spots activity between visits. Visits should be booked around your shifts so production doesn't stop. Manufacturing plans range from $200 to $700 a month, depending on the size of the plant and what you make. If your current provider can't show you where their devices are, that's a problem.
Can a daycare get pest control without closing?
Yes. We book daycare treatments for early morning or weekends, before any children arrive. We rely on bait inside locked stations, traps and sealing gaps rather than spraying, and anything we use is kept out of reach of kids. Service for a daycare is usually monthly and costs $150 to $200 a month. If staff spot something between visits, we'll come back and deal with it.
Are the big black ants in my house carpenter ants?
If they're large, black and showing up in the kitchen or near windows in spring, there's a good chance they are. Carpenter ants don't eat wood, but they chew tunnels through it to nest, especially wood that's been wet. Look for little piles of what looks like sawdust under window sills, baseboards or deck boards. Seeing them inside in late winter or early spring usually means the nest is in the house, not just out in the yard. Ant control for a home costs $199 to $299.
How can I tell if mice are in my attic or walls?
Mice are most active at night, so the first sign is often scratching or light running sounds in the ceiling or walls after dark. You might also find droppings about the size of a grain of rice along baseboards, in cupboards or near the furnace. In the attic, look for tunnels through the insulation and chewed wiring or boxes. If you hear them, book an inspection before they have a chance to breed.
Can carpenter ants damage a commercial building?
Yes, over time. Carpenter ants nest in wood that's been wet, so older commercial buildings with flat roofs that leak, rotting soffits, wood decks or landscape timbers against the wall are at risk. The damage happens slowly, but a colony left alone for years can weaken trim, framing and window frames. We find the nest, treat it, and point out the moisture problem that brought them in. We check for this during regular service for commercial buildings.
How do you deal with hornets near a building entrance or parking lot?
Bald-faced hornets often build their grey paper nests in trees and shrubs right beside walkways and parking lots, where people walk past all day. They defend the nest aggressively, so the first step is keeping people away from it. We treat the nest in the evening or early morning, when the hornets are inside, and take it down once the colony is dead. For businesses, we can check the property for nests in early summer before they get big.
Why do office kitchens get fruit flies?
Office kitchens are full of things fruit flies love: organics bins, recycling with sticky cans and bottles, coffee grounds, a fruit bowl and a sink drain nobody scrubs. They breed fast, so a small problem on Monday is a big one by Friday. Empty organics and recycling every day, rinse containers before they go in the bin, and have the sink drain cleaned. We can help find the source during regular office service.
Why do I find spiders in my basement?
Basements are quiet, a bit damp and full of small insects, which is everything a spider needs. Most of the ones you'll see are cellar spiders, the thin long-legged ones, and common house spiders, and both are harmless. Run a dehumidifier, clear out cardboard boxes and clutter, and vacuum up webs and egg sacs. If they're still everywhere after that, a treatment along the foundation walls and windows will knock them back.
What's the difference between deer mice and house mice?
Deer mice are brown on top with a clean white belly, white feet and a tail that's dark on top and white underneath. They live in woodlots and fields and move into sheds, garages and houses near green space. House mice are a dull grey-brown all over. The difference matters because deer mice can carry hantavirus, so their droppings should be cleaned up carefully, wet down with disinfectant, never swept or vacuumed dry.

Why us
Pest Control for Aurora Businesses and Homes
A lot of Aurora's growth in recent years has been on the business side. There are plants, printers and offices on the industrial streets, and a new employment area is taking shape between Highway 404 and Leslie Street. Buildings like these need pest control that runs on a schedule, with paperwork to back it up. We set up programs for manufacturing plants, offices and small businesses across town.

Each commercial client gets a site map showing where every device is, a visit schedule that fits around their hours, and a written report after every visit. When something comes up between visits, we're usually there within 24 to 48 hours. Emergencies are answered 24/7. We can also send an unmarked vehicle if you'd rather your customers didn't see a pest control truck in the lot.

If you're moving into one of the newer buildings near the 404, set up pest control before the stock arrives. New industrial units often still have open gaps around utility lines, unfinished landscaping and construction debris nearby, and all of that gives mice an easy way in. A short visit before you open, to put in exterior stations and check the door seals, costs far less than clearing an infestation out of a full warehouse later.

Homes in Aurora get their share of problems too. Houses close to the woodlots and ravines see more mice in the fall and more carpenter ants in the spring. We also handle house ants, pharaoh ants, wasps, hornets, rats, cockroaches, bed bugs, spiders, centipedes, silverfish, flies, fruit flies, carpenter bees, and pantry pests like weevils and beetles.

We've been doing this since 2017, and every technician we send is licensed, insured and covered by WSIB. If you're not sure what you're dealing with, call 647-849-4441 and describe it. We'll tell you honestly whether it needs a visit.
